Chiang Mai Watchmaker
Careful work for
watches worth keeping
From a simple battery change to a thorough movement rebuild, each piece is handled with the same steady attention. We work from a bench in Nimman, Chiang Mai.
What We Offer
Three focused services
Each service is scoped clearly from the start. No work is carried out beyond what you have agreed to, and a bench report accompanies every job.
Battery & Seal Refresh
A tidy service for quartz pieces — cell replacement, gasket inspection, and bench water-resistance check. A good starting point for an everyday wearer you want back in rotation. Any additional wear found is noted; nothing extra is done without your go-ahead.
- Cell replaced with matched grade
- Gasket condition assessed
- Bench water-resistance test
- Written condition note provided
Automatic Regulation & Cleaning
Cleaning and re-lubrication of a self-winding movement, with timing adjustment across several positions for steadier daily accuracy. Suited to owners noticing drift in an otherwise sound watch. A before-and-after bench report makes the outcome straightforward to understand.
- Full movement disassembly & cleaning
- Fresh lubrication to spec
- Multi-position timing adjustment
- Before/after rate report
Heritage Piece Rebuild
A deliberate, multi-stage rebuild for older and inherited watches — hand-finishing of parts, careful case work, and sympathetic dial care where appropriate. For those who want a treasured piece kept honest to its era. Timelines are longer by design, reflecting the care involved.
- Full disassembly & assessment report
- Hand-finishing of worn components
- Sympathetic case & dial care
- Documented rebuild record
Why Escapement
How we approach the work
Honest assessment first
We inspect and report before any work begins, so you decide what happens to your watch.
Written bench records
Every job leaves with a written record of what was done, what was found, and timing results where applicable.
Scope agreed in advance
No work is carried out beyond what you have approved. Scope changes are discussed with you first.
Realistic timelines
Estimates reflect actual bench time. We do not rush jobs to meet an arbitrary deadline.
Era-appropriate approach
Older pieces are handled with methods suited to their period, preserving original character where possible.

Common Questions
Questions about the work
How do I know what my watch needs?
Bring it in and we will look it over with you at no charge. We describe what we find, explain the options, and leave the decision entirely with you. Nothing is assumed or rushed.
How long does each service take?
A Battery & Seal Refresh is typically done within a few working days. Automatic Regulation & Cleaning usually takes one to two weeks depending on the movement. A Heritage Rebuild is longer — four to eight weeks is common — because multi-stage work cannot be rushed without affecting the result.
Are the listed prices fixed?
The prices shown are the standard service rates. If an assessment reveals something that would affect the cost — unusual parts, additional damage — we discuss it with you before proceeding. You are never presented with a surprise at collection.
Do you work on all watch brands?
We handle most Swiss and Japanese movements across quartz, automatic, and older hand-wind calibres. Some proprietary or highly specialised movements may fall outside what we can properly service — if that is the case, we will say so at assessment rather than take on work we cannot do well.
Can I drop off a watch without an appointment?
Walk-ins are welcome during workshop hours. If you would like to be sure someone is available to discuss the piece with you, a quick message in advance is appreciated, but not required.
Is my watch insured while in your care?
Pieces in our care are kept securely. We take the same precautions for a simple battery job as for a valuable heirloom. We recommend asking your own insurer whether your policy covers items at a repair workshop, as policies vary.
Ready to Proceed?
Bring your watch to the bench
Whether it is a straightforward battery change or a piece that has not run for years, the first step is the same: a look and a conversation at no cost.
